Residing in Edmonton, Canada, I grew up exploring the outdoors with my twin sister —camping, biking, skiing, and always dreamt of a life as a modern-day Indiana Jones, exploring far-off cultures and seeking adventure! At an early age I would spend time in the library reading books about Egypt and pondering what a different life they had from mine. Aside from my interest in history, I was also a creative kid, making crafts and drawings….I just didn’t know it could be a career path yet. Starting my academics in Psychology and Anthropology, I soon found my creative side while taking a few arts classes as part of my degree. I was enamored with the power of graphic design to influence behavior and create social change. From then on, I’ve built a 15+ year career as a UX Product Designer and have worked with countless people to create some really great digital products.

As for a career as an anthropologist….I’ve found a way to balance my interest in history by travelling the world with my husband and have had many Indiana Jones Adventures…like, losing my camera in Egypt (no social media back then), being trapped on a balcony in Mexico, getting my luggage stolen in Botswana, missing my flight to Guatamala, and not having the right travel visa to get out of Cambodia.
